Scata Bada as we all know is yet again about to break the ice, and this time around it’s interestingly coded. 2015 and all the coming years are going to be remarkable and unforgettable from the camp of Lyfstyl Entertainment. Remember, reggae/dancehall is not a joke and Scata Bada doesn’t disappoint. The songwriter and performer wants to surprise his music fans in a new way, not as he had done in the past, in order to connect more directly with his fans.
14th February, 2015 is going to be a historic day, keep the date.
The move was designed to keep fans in suspense, question their intelligence and let fans form their own opinions on what’s going to happen on the date stated above. His current joined force song ( Style It ) with Ghana’s fasters rapper and BET award winner Sarkodie and produced by one of the finest sound engineers in Tema King One Beatz, is receiving alot of airplay already and the song in itself speaks volume. We all can testify to the fact that Sarkodie doesn’t jump on just any song. This should alert or bring your mind to the fact that Scata Bada has come to stay.

I don’t need drugs or alcohol to perform – Episode
Fast rising Dancehall act Episode says he does not need drugs or alcohol to put up a spectacular show on stage.Episode who put up an exciting performance at the just ended ‘ Big Weekend Afro-Beats Festival’ at the Independence Square in Accra, told NEWS-ONE that the energy and style he emits anytime is mounts the stage to perform is all natural and he considers that as a blessing.
“My style is a blessing. Most of the time, I don’t really draw plan for whatever I have to go and do on stage like the way other artistes line up their stuff. I just go on the stage and feel like yo this is what I have to give to them. I believe that me being a musician is another way of spreading the gospel and spreading the word as well.
“It is all natural; I don’t depend on drugs or alcohol to boss. Just a little prayer and rehearsal and boom” Episode stated.
Episode was part of a tall list of artistes including Pappy Kojo, Joey B and D Black among others who thrilled patrons on the first day of the weekend event.
The ‘Sinners Prayer’ singer disclosed that Dancehall as a genre cannot be devoid of rivalry because it is good for the business.
“I believe that Dancehall is one of the genres that you can’t really take it cool. You can’t also put rivalry out of Dancehall. So me, being an artiste who loves unity and as a youth coming up from all these camps—you see me with High Grade family, you see me with Shatta Movement Family—I believe that I’m the middle man and most of the time you need to pull them together, which is good for business because at the end of the day if you don’t take it from that aspect, the fans are going to suffer,” he said.
Theophilus Nii Ardey Otoo Junior, as he is known in real life, added that though it was impossible to predict his own future, he someday aims at putting Africa on the map through the Dancehall genre.
“Episode is music, Episode is sinner’s prayer. He is a youth none of them can stop because Episode is a pastor and messenger as well. I can’t really predict the future but I just want to put Africa on the map,” he noted.

[Nigeria] How we made our first N1million – P-Square

Peter and Paul Okoye of Psquare, winners of the Special recognition award at the just concluded Headies awards, which was held at the Eko hotel and suites, Lagos have revealed how it took them years to save their first million naira.Just before they were given their awards, the twin brothers who wowed the audience with a rendition of their old tracks, at the annual music and video awards, revealed the other side of them that fans did not know.
“While we were living in Jos, we lived with our uncle and he gave us – Jude, Paul and Peter just one room to share. It wasn’t easy, we were squatting with a large family.
“Somehow, we came to Lagos and after selling our stuffs, we were able to rent a one-room apartment and you know we had no chairs but we did not care. All we were after was how to market our music…..eventually money started coming in but it was small, very small. For a while, we were angry that our names were being mentioned everywhere and peeps would see us to say, ‘I just saw your music on MTV base”, meanwhile we had no TV to even watch the MTV base in our house”.
On their first one million naira, they said “The first time we had one million naira we celebrated it. For a long while, all we could save was N850,000 and it was paining us. One day however, we went for a concert and right there we were paid N150,000, then it was big money. We immediately added it to the N850,000 and voila, we had N1million. We bought drinks to celebrate, we were glad that we were now millionaires”.
“To the upcoming artiste, you don’t make money immediately, it’s like you are investing in music and would reap later on”.
